iPOWER NEW ENGLAND TO PARTICIPATE
IN THG CORPORATION SEMINAR SERIES
Northborough, MA (7-28-2008) - Doug Markham, President of iPower New England Distribution Group, today said iPower New England would participate as a presenter at the THG Corporation 75th Anniversary Open House and Trade Show on October 8 & 9, 2008. According to Markham, the 90 minute seminar presentation introduces the concept of vendor managed inventory solutions for manufacturers plagued with supply chain problems.
“We welcome the opportunity to offer this important instructional service to the hundreds of customers expected to attend the THG Corporation Open House and Trade Show,” said Markham. The seminar will be presented once each day of the show, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The title of the seminar is “7 Strategies for Vendor Managed Inventories.”
Markham said, “We are going to share our 7 “secrets” with the seminar participants in a check-list format so they can check on their own success.” Also, according to Markham, the participants will receive a special white paper providing advice to CFO’s and CPO’s on how to retool their existing VMI plans. Markham stated that through an improved understanding of how the supply chain operates, participants in the seminar will learn techniques that will consolidate their supply base, reduce material costs from seven to 15 percent, reduce WIP inventory from 20 to 25 percent, slash lead times 50 percent and eliminate manufacturing overhead to procure, receive and handle thousands of inventory and expense items. A vendor managed inventory (VMI) offers a cost effective solution to supply chain challenges.
According to organizers, the THG Corporation Open House and Trade Show are expected to draw over 1,000 visitors between the Portland, Maine and Northborough, Mass. events.
