RECEIVES AWARD AS OUTSTANDING SUPPLIER
TO VARIAN SEMICONDUCTOR
Northborough MA (5-6-09) - For the second year in row, Varian Semiconductor Equipment has presented iPower Distribution Group of New England with its Outstanding Supplier Award, according to Douglas Markham, President of iPower New England.
“We are delighted to be recognized by Varian Semiconductor and to receive the Strategic Supply Chain Award for the second time,” said Mr. Markham. “We are proud to be a member of the team at Varian and to realize that our partnership with them has resulted in profitable, measurable success,” he added.
In a letter announcing the award, Lori Ciano, Director of Supply Chain for Varian Semiconductor, stated: “Varian Semiconductor has very high standards when it comes to the performance of our key suppliers.” She added, “The very nature of our volatile industry and the increasingly tighter technical demands of our ultimate customers make meeting our requirements all the more difficult.”
Mr. Markham said, “Our goal has been to strengthen the supply chain, thus freeing up purchasing capacity, decreasing lead times, improving on-time delivery and overall quality.”
